It takes a big man to write a letter like Dale’s…
June 8th, 2006
Dear Students and Friends of Front Sight,
Front Sight receives hundreds of letters from students every month. Every now and then we receive a letter that so clearly validates our purpose and so succinctly describes the reason why we push through every obstacle in our paths to spread our doctrine far and wide, that I feel compelled to share it with you.
Please feel free to share this letter with others in the hope that they will come to understand what our student,Dale Paugh realized at Front Sight.
It takes a big man to write a letter like his. We all owe Dale a heartfelt thanks for sharing what he learned at Front Sight so others will learn from Dale’s experience.
Here is Dale Paugh’s letter to Front Sight:
I would like to tell you how I came to attend your Four-Day Defensive Handgun Course. Five of my friends had attended your Free Submachine Gun course and then invited me to come with them to the Defensive Handgun Course.
Being a USPSA / PPC shooter with over 300 trophies, a Range Master and Range Master Proctor for a large law enforcement agency, and having worked for six years for a private indoor shooting facility, I did not think I would learn much from your school– but is sounded like a good road trip to Nevada.
On the first morning, in the classroom orientation I heard the following statement, “We will significantly increase your shooting ability.” I laughed and told my friends I doubted I would learn much but it would be fun.
After the first ten minutes on the range, I realized that Front Sight was a very well run, professional organization. After the first day I realized I was arrogant and ignorant and could learn much more. What I learned most was that prior to attending your course, I did not know that I had never been really looking at the Front Sight of my gun, even though I have been teaching students to focus on their Front Sight for years.
I was very impressed with your staff. The instructors were very knowledgeable, confident, and had great command presence. They kept their attention on the class. The word dynamic comes to mind when I think of their teaching ability– awesome instructors.
Dr. Piazza, I would like to thank you and your staff for SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASING MY SHOOTING ABILITY. Please feel free to share this letter with your staff or use it any way you desire. Again, thank you.
