I never believed in regular people owning guns…

Here is a letter I recently received.
Hello Dr. Piazza,
I am a 53 yr. old woman, disabled and with four children still at home.
My reason for subscribing to your 15 Gun Training Reports was to learn.
I never believed in regular people owning guns.
However, that idea has changed since someone broke into my home last year.
My children, ages 11-16 years old and I have felt scared ever since then.
I expected just to be a little bit more knowledgeable from your gun training reports but they have helped me understand what to expect and what to do.
I am heading for the shooting range today knowing I am more informed and happier.

P.S. Two of my sisters are police officers in NY!
As you know, the need for firearms is often not realized until after a terrible, preventable incident – if only there had been a gun around to defend yourself with. As you can read here I had a similar awakening.
It is amazing to me that there are so many people who consider guns themselves to be the danger, rather than seeing the truth in that guns are the protection from danger.
We certainly hope to see you in the future as you progress in your training, Ada. Wen you come out, bring those kids. The children, having seen first hand what occurs when a criminal comes into your life uninvited, would certainly gain more control over their situation if you sent them to the Youth Self Defense Two-Day course here at Front Sight while you do your training. It is a great way to help them place a positive attitude and sense of awareness and control in placer of any lingering worry or fear.
