Eye-Opening Firearms Training Reports

Wednesday, April 18th, 2007

Hello Dr. Piazza,

First I want to Thank You for the newsletters.  They are very informative and eye opening.

I still consider myself a beginner, even though I have owned a 1911 since I turned 21, and I am now 50.  And the Colt I have has not been “customized” as the firearms world would like. No fancy trigger work, no match barrel, ect..  Just a beavertail safety and commander hammer, I got tried of getting “bit”.  I am from the Old School, where Simple Is Good.  K.I.S.S.  Keep it Simple Stupid.  And if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.…

Response to VT Shootings from First Family Member

Wednesday, April 18th, 2007

Dear Dr. Piazza,

My name is Miles Johnson and I am one of your First Family Members.  I wanted to let you know that I think that this is a great idea to give teachers the chance to learn how to protect their students.  As I was listening to the reports of the shooting I thought to myself that all it took to stop that shooter was one person standing up against him.  All it took was one person standing for good to save the lives of 32 innocent people.  I think that even if the only thing people did…

Response to Gun Training Report 2

Tuesday, April 17th, 2007

Dr. Ignatius Piazza

Thank you for info on sight picture in the gun training report # 2 you provided. I shoot Glock 26 and 20 weapons and have not used night sights as yet.

I look forward to reading all of your info before deciding on life membership or just your special certificates for the moment. I just recently retired form the Army Corps of Engineers as a Civilian Sr. Leader and am interested in getting back into one of my favorite things shooting. I have taken a 8 hour one on one personalized Defensive Handgun course at my local…

Front Sight Challenge Response

Sunday, April 15th, 2007

Dear Dr. Ignatius Piazza,

Thank you so much for the opportunity to read your newsletters.

I First Saw the Front Sight challenge last week and subscribed immediately. It’s now the show I look most forward to watching every week (on both Friday and Sunday!). One of the dying questions I had was where to focus my eye when shooting; I didn’t know if it were on the target, my rear sights, or somewhere in between. I now know its the front sight!

I can’t wait to get to the range and practice, but since I just read #3 I don’t…

Defense for the Disabled

Saturday, April 14th, 2007
Dear Doctor Piazza,

What type of weapon would you suggest for someone who is disabled, on crutches, drives alone, is very busy and needs something for protection. I would like something I could carry in my pocket and have it close when I have to leave my vehicle. As my hands are on my crutches it is not easy to reach in my pockets.

Any suggestions?

Thank you

Mike

PS- Really liked your gun training reports on self protection, thanks.

Thank you Mike,

Like Nothing Else…

Thursday, April 12th, 2007

Dear Dr. Ignatius Piazza,

Wow, I just read the first two gun training reports of your 15 newsletters  as well as most everything else on your website, including your Founder’s  Message…Incredible…

None else like your team and training , that I’ve ever come across…

And hey,  I can only chuckle at the results of your TV challenge- The  “Professional Lawmen” vs Front Sight Trained  “Joe Citizen” with Joe Citizen winning most of the time!

Thanks so much for “finally leveling the playing field” for us regular people who are locked out of so much desireable training and weapons equipment purchases,…

Dry Practice Scenarios

Wednesday, April 11th, 2007

Hi Dr Piazza,

Thank you for your newsletters, I read each and every one of them. I also save them to a file I have.

I have to agree with you on the “Dry Practice” scenarios. Since attending the Four Day Defensive Handgun class in October 13th 2006, I’ve executed a Dry Practice almost everyday for 15 minutes. My ability to manipulate my Colt .45 has increase tremendously. I now shoot in IDPA matches in California and I can tell that my ability has improved over when I first started the Four Day Defensive Hand Gun.

Keep up the great…

From a Soldier in Iraq

Monday, April 9th, 2007

Dear Dr Piazza,

My wife and I have been reading your training report emails with great interest. She is at our home in Fl and I am currently serving in Iraq and expect to complete my 1 year tour in APR-MAY 2007.

I have over 26 years in the Army and my wife is an RN with some basic handgun training and experience. Your reports have been very informative and thought provoking. We have discussed you emails via email and are both looking forward to a brief Las Vegas getaway and attending the 4 day defensive handgun training at Front…

Dry Fire Practice Manual Response

Saturday, April 7th, 2007

Dr. Ignatius Piazza,

I enjoyed reading your report the color code of mental awareness.  I feel less like a paranoid and more like a person who is aware of his surroundings.   With all that is going on in our country, I have adopted what you call condition Yellow as a way of life.  When I am in a mall I look at people, size them up as to whether or not they look like a threat.   I avoid Dark unlit areas unless I am with a large group, I stand or sit at the back of rooms so I am…
