The dry practice exercise is a great idea. I am a life long believer in focused dry practice and have been using it to teach my two oldest grandsons (ages 10 and 13) to safely shoot Single Action Shooting Society type scenarios in my basement for just over six months now.
They had their first live fire with two single action pistols, a lever action rifle and a double barrel shotgun with external hammers a few weeks ago. I was amazed at how quickly and easily they grouped their shots on target with all three weapons. There was no fumbling with weapons, reloading, presentation, re-holstering, or muzzle safety issues. I attribute their success to the familiarity gained through hours of focused dry practice.

I’ve been away canoe camping for a couple of weeks and just now began to read your 15 newsletters. This is in response to letter #2, as requested.
I am enjoying them very much, and the video interviews that accompany them are facinating. I just finished blacking out the soft gray front sight of my new Springfield Armory 1911-A1 GI and did some dry fire exercises in both bright light and low light that were very interesting. If the actual range results are what I suspect, I will be incorporating the “Blacked out” front sight on all my weapons.

Just a push to let you know I enjoyed your firearms test and to thank you for spreading the Word. I am a lifelong weapons owner and combat experienced shooter, and as you state in the test eval there are some points upon which we disagree, that is just the difference of prefered weapons/calibers that will always be with us, in doctrine we are standing the line together. Keep up the good work and remember, Illegitimati Non Carborundum!

Thank you for the great insight that you provide in your reports from Front Sight. As requested in Report #21, I am sending this to confirm that I am receiving the regular reports.
Due to the economic down turn, (specifically in the Mortgage industry and especially in Southern California), at this time, I am unable to attend the classes or become a member. However, I have the most sincere hope and expectation that 2008 will bring my family a new financial situation. Hello. I get your newsletter via email. I’ve read many of the reports you put out. I whole-heartedly agree with you on so many things. It would be a dream for many people, if I never had to worry about money, to set up a club like you did, with people just like you have in your interviews. I have heard great things about your training and hope to make it to Front Sight in the future. I live in Boulder County, Colorado, and the firearms instructors with the Sheriff’s Department spoke glowingly of the training they received on patrol rifles in preparation for issuing the agency’s new AR’s.
I have completed NRA LE certification in Police Firearms Instructor, Patrol Rifle, Precision Rifle and Tactical Shooting and serve as a LE Firearms Instructor with our agency. However, I always strive to improve my skills and knowledge in firearms instruction and believe that attending your

Thank you Dr. Piazza for the reports that you have prepared for people like myself. I have grown up around firearms and lived on a farm where I hunted any time I wanted and have enjoyed the freedom of using and possessing firearms all my life. I currently have a ccw permit and regard it as a very valuable tool toward being able to defend myself and others if the need arises by being able to legally carry a firearm.
