Restrictive Firearms Laws in Australia
May 29th, 2008
Sir,
I’d like to thank you, Dr Piazza, for your very informative and interesting reports.
I am an Australian, now retired, with 26 years of Australian Army Infantry service and was able to pick up quite a few good tips from your reports. Unfortunately there is no such thing as a private citizen with a Concealed Carry Permit in Australia, so as much as I would enjoy the course it would be of little or no use to me over here. The only people with firearms on the street in Australia are the Police, some accredited Security Guards…. and criminals. As you may, or may not, be aware… the Firearms Laws in Australia are extremely restricted, but only to the law abiding citizen. There have been numerous occasions when I wished that I was carrying a concealed firearm, but unfortunately I am one of those law abiding citizens and as such cannot do so.
Once again, thanks for the reports and I wish you continued success with Concealed Weapon Permit Course and the continued growth of your excellent Company, Front Sight.
Cheers,
Vince
