Who should train at Front Sight? Well if you ask me, I will tell you that Front Sight is not for everyone, nor do we want just “anyone” taking courses with us.

We want law abiding gun owners who desire the absolute best in firearms training and appreciate an organization who does everything possible to improve the skills of
each and every student attending a course.

Here are three examples of more than a thousand satisfied students we have trained in just the last few weeks:

The Fireman:

I attended the Four Day Defensive Handgun Training Course. From the first day, Front Sight was much more than what I anticipated. From the lectures to the range facilities to the instructors, Front Sight is very impressive. The introduction of the instructors made everyone (including myself) stand up and show respect!

What impressed me right away on the range was the (obvious) emphasis on safety and teaching – with no boot camp attitude! When the instructors gave examples of gun handling/shooting they performed them with absolute excellence. They are outstanding examples of how to properly handle a firearm!

Before I arrived at Front Sight I felt my gun handling and experience were good. Not long after starting the course, I realized I was a UI (Unconsciously Incompetent)- I didn’t know what I didn’t know.

I’ve handled firearms most of my life and I’ve read books by well known instructors, but until you put those books into the type of training offered by Front Sight, it’s only words on paper. After completing the Four Day Defensive Handgun course at Front Sight, I’m well on my way to being a CC – Consciously Competent. I’m doing dry practice enough to improve daily and I’m even doing ‘quick checks’ just about everywhere, including in my vehicle! This simple action has made me more aware of my surroundings!

Training with the reactive targets is training you can’t get just any place and the time pressure increases your capabilities and makes you a better shooter.

The steel reactive targets with the hostage shoot were excellent and with the added pressure of competing against your teammates was just plain fun!

I can honestly say that as a result of the Four Day Defensive Handgun course, I’ve improved at least ten fold!

I will be back to attend your 4 Day Tactical Shotgun course next. I know Front Sight will not only teach me what I don’t know about my shotgun, but will teach me how to properly handle it as well!

My wife and I attended the 4-day defensive handgun course last month. It was EXCELLENT training.

The instructors were fantastic. Your instructors spent a lot of time coaching my wife, as she was very new to semi-autos. Her only experience in the past was with revolvers. She trained with a Glock 9mm and now, instead of just hoping that she might be able to protect herself if I get into a situation, I believe she could be my backup, if needed.

I was in law enforcement when I was a young man and received training in that arena as well as attending a shoot school provided to local law enforcement by FBI trainers. We trained with handguns and shotguns. Additionally, I spent considerable time dry practicing and live firing. I thought myself quite proficient with a handgun.

I read many testimonials and every newsletter you sent, prior to attending a course. This is a more dangerous world we live in now, and the better prepared we are when trouble comes, the better our odds are of surviving it. I made up my mind that my wife and I needed this training.

I am so glad we did, as with every other student, I too became aware of how inadequate I was with my own handgun. Oh sure I could poke holes in a target, anyone can, with enough time and lack of pressure. Now I can present and fire quickly and accurately and have the confidence with my handgun that someone carrying CCW should have. Since we received your training our odds of surviving when trouble comes went way up.

The Housewife and 8 Year Old:

Dr Piazza,

Just wanted to drop you a note about the great Two Day courses that I, my wife and my 8 year old daughter attended.

I took the 2 Day Submachine Gun Course. The instructors were excellent and worked through several problems I had. By the end of the second day, I was shooting at the top of the class for almost all the drills.

My daughter took the Children’s Safety course. She absolutely loved it! I thought that we would have to drag her back to class after lunch, but she proved me very wrong. She kept pushing to get back there early. She was basically “chomping at the bit” to get back. Anytime we saw her on the second day, she kept asking, “Can’t we stay for four days?” Unfortunately, my work schedule did not allow for the added time.

My wife took the Two Day Defensive Handgun course for the second time. Even she said that she would have liked to stay for the full four days! I definitely wasn’t expecting that. The only downside to her time there was that on the first day she was paired up with a British ex-military male that was quite a bit of a chauvinist-she out shot him all day! The instructors did see what was going on and changed partners for her on day two.

We had a great time. My wife and I along with my 17 year old daughter will be returning at the end of the month for the Two Day, Empty Hand Defense course. My daughter will be spending the summer in Pittsburgh with the Pittsburgh Ballet. She’s a ballerina and though she is quite capable, I figure that this will be a great course to re-enforce what she already knows and to add new information and skills.
