Response to Color Code of Mental Awareness – Free Gun Training Report
August 30th, 2008
Dear Dr. Piazza,
I am enjoying these messages and excerpts from your training courses. This most recent topic of color codes is something I have attempted to use in my life for a few years. Some of my co-workers and I use a game around our warehouse with a point system awarded for varying degrees of alertness or ignorance of our surroundings. For example, if a friend can sneak up on me close enough to touch me or startle me before I am aware of him, I lose 10 points, and he gains 5. If I am aware of him in the moments leading up to his attempt to touch me, I will score 1 point.. If, however, I can be aware of him, turn and touch or startle him in the process of attempting to score off me, I gain 10 points and he loses 10.
As I live in Canada, carrying a defensive firearm is almost impossible to do legally, so I do what I can to project that aura of confidence and competence that will aid me in avoiding confrontation.
Thanks again for these helpful topics of education and discussion. I look forward to reading more, and hope to attend one of your courses in the next year.
Regards,
Steve
