Regarding yesterday’s blog post

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

Dr. Piazza,

Thanks for sending that eye-opening news report about children and unsecured weapons.

Within ten minutes of watching that video, I ordered a GunVault locking gun case.

That was a timely piece, one my wife and I needed to see.

Thanks again.

Your Guns Should Be In One Of Two Places

Monday, September 29th, 2008

Where is your handgun right now?

The correct answer is it should be in a holster inside your waistband.

On the rare occasion when you are not wearing your handgun, where should it be?

See this news video to find out what happens when guns are left lying around…

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bwwdd_gARaM

The safest handgun is the loaded handgun safely holstered on your waist belt.  When you are not carrying your handgun on your person (when you sleep or shower) it needs to be secured in a push-button lockbox within arms reach that you can immediately access.  Anything less is simply irresponsible.…

Who do criminals fear?

Sunday, September 28th, 2008
Dr. Piazza,Excellent instruction.I well remember a study that was done a number of years ago, involving interviews with violent criminals in prison in order to determine what they feared while they were out committing mayhem upon the public.

They did not fear the police because they would be long gone before the police arrived.

They did not fear the judicial system because of plea bargining and shortened sentences due to prison overcrowding.

Their only fear, in their own words, was the possibility that their next victim might be armed.

Nuff said.

“Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition.”

Rifle Training

Friday, September 26th, 2008
Dear Dr. Piazza;I’ve been receiving your gun training reports for several weeks and have really been enjoying them, especially the reports about the Color Code of Awareness.  I’ve also really been enjoying following your blog and all the great insights you bring to current events regarding real-life self defense situations.

Thank you for all that you do for the most important amendment to our Constitution, and for the empowerment of everyone you have helped to train.

I just recently (this past June) became interested in firearms, specifically for defending myself and those around me.  You can’t imagine how refreshing it…

Response to Free Gun Training Report “Use of Deadly Force”

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

Hello Dr. Piazza,

Just got through with your training report #6 - Use of Deadly Force.

Nicely done.

What you talked about in it reinforced my own feelings.

Yes, I have already made the decision to use deadly force if I, my loved ones or a complete stranger is in life-threatening danger or of serious bodily harm. It’s very simple, if the attacker has a weapon of any kind that can cause either scenario, I’d probably shoot. On the other side of the coin, if there is no weapon I’d probably just “duke it out,” as I have been forced to do…

Interview With John Lott

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

Here is a great interview with a real scholar of the Second Amendment that will provide you with strong verbal ammunition when discussing the value that a concealed weapon provides society.

An interview with
John R. Lott, Jr.
author of More Guns, Less Crime: Understanding Crime and Gun Control Laws

Question: What does the title mean: More Guns, Less Crime?

John R. Lott, Jr.: States with the largest increases in gun ownership also have the largest drops in violent crimes. Thirty-one states now have such laws — called “shall-issue” laws. These laws allow adults the right to carry concealed handguns if they do not have…

Chicago Gun Rights

Friday, September 19th, 2008

Hello Dr. Ignatius:

Thank you for defending gun rights in Chicago. I have posted your article and offer at Armed Citizens of Chicago. As a Chicago resident, I have become sick and tired of all of the gun violence coming mostly from gangs who are killing off generations of our young people on a daily basis.  Our city’s gun ban it not working and it is time that we start looking at alternatives to this crisis. I am glad that you have made this generous offer to train responsible, law-abiding citizens of Chicago on the use of firearms for self-defense…

Report from Baton Rouge

Wednesday, September 17th, 2008

Dr. Piazza,

Just wanted to let you know how much I’m enjoying your newsletters!

Had reached the point I thought I could get out in October to “take the course”, but Hurricane Gustav kinda changed all that.

Wasn’t much on the national press about it, but Baton Rouge was decimated.  I just got power back Saturday night and now — ’cause the money I’d set aside for the trip has to go to cover the difference between what insurance is going to pick up for all our damage to what it’s really going to cost to rebuild — I’ll have…

I Love This Little Girl… and So Will You.

Monday, September 15th, 2008

How many of you have taken the time to teach your kids the important things in life that they will never learn in school?

Here is a video that should warm your heart and show you that all is not lost in America.

Pay close attention to the pride and excitement displayed by this young girl as she completes a task that would horrify her public school administrators but make our Founding Fathers smile from above…

Watch this video and then share it with your kids, too.

My only constructive (instructive) comment is that at the end of the…

Response to Free Gun Training Reports from Pastor Mat

Sunday, September 14th, 2008

Dr. Piazza,

I’m loving the reports!

It is high time someone talked to legal, gun owning, civilian patriots this way.  I loved the instruction about how to make a head shot in a hostage situation in 2 seconds, and I am sick and tired of sissified men talking like that it is too violent or should be reserved for LEOs only.  That is the shot I want to make—and make right—when some piece of crud grabs my daughter in a grocery store robbery some day.

I haven’t even tried to hit a target at 200 yards with my handguns and…
