Response to Free Gun Training Report “Use of Deadly Force”
September 24th, 2008
Hello Dr. Piazza,
Just got through with your training report #6 – Use of Deadly Force.
Nicely done.
What you talked about in it reinforced my own feelings.
Yes, I have already made the decision to use deadly force if I, my loved ones or a complete stranger is in life-threatening danger or of serious bodily harm. It’s very simple, if the attacker has a weapon of any kind that can cause either scenario, I’d probably shoot. On the other side of the coin, if there is no weapon I’d probably just “duke it out,” as I have been forced to do only once, Thank God.
The circumstances and details don’t matter but I was defending someone I cared for from an abusive ex-husband. I was carrying at the time, just in case, but the attacker had nothing more than his body and anger. I used the deadliest weapon in my arsenal against him, my brain. It was amazing how fast the brain works in a situation like that. Thanks for the reinforcement.
Keep the newsletters coming.
