In its purest reasoning, guns freely in the hands of the common people are primarily for maintaining the power delegated to those who govern within the limits first established by the people. Any other reason is either fluff or nonsense.

most Americans think that our congress is comprised of very intelligent people, but after working with and around them for ten years, I realize that they are no different than a cross section of people you meet on the street…I’d say the average IQ is about 100. Some are pretty smart and some are pretty stupid. It’s an uphill battle to educate them about anything.
