Front Sight Mail Bag: Response to Free Gun Training for Pastors
April 9th, 2009
I just wanted to write and tell you how much I respect and appreciate what Front Sight is doing for our gun rights. I think it is ridiculous how media fed people can be these days.
I’m not much of a writer but I feel compelled to express my gratitude.
I really wanted to write you after I read the newsletter about Pastor Winters and the discounted memberships you are offering for members of a congregation to protect their place of worship. I live in Illinois, where many people I know very well go to the church where Pastor Winters spoke. I got to see first hand the damage that it did to people in the community and it kills me to think that because of the strict gun laws here in Illinois that many of those people didn’t even know that they had the right to defend themselves in their church.
I’m 25 years old and been around firearms my entire life. I grew up on a farm, where ever grown man around me owned a gun. They where being shot around me responsibly and no one ever got hurt. My uncle actually let me shoot a 22 rifle at five, with no problems. Later he let me ride his four wheeler. Can you guess which turned out to be more dangerous for even a five year old? I was upright for about ten minutes before I ran it through a fence and threw myself in a field.
My uncle was also John Norris, the pizza delivery driver who was murdered in North Las Vegas in January, the day after his birth day because the management of Pizza Hut prohibited their drivers from carrying a firearm on duty.
People today are terrified that if they ever do have to use lethal force to defend themselves, that they might be charged as a criminal. It apparently makes more scence for only the criminals to have a gun.
Again, thank you for beig willing to speak up to “big brother” and remind them what freedom is and what every American soldier has died to protect. I hope that one day I can become a member of Front Sight and be a part of history.
