Front Sight Mail Bag: Professionalism, Dignity and Respect
February 8th, 2011
Dr. Piazza,
Professionalism, dignity, respect offered by Front Sight staff is unsurpassed.
All demonstrated a kindness and respect to all, regardless of skill level.
What really impressed me was the consistency of their skill and training abilities. I had equal confidence in any front sight staff member on the range because there was no differences between the range lecture and the training any of them provided while on the firing line
I appreciated the lectures too. And I never read your stated purpose until reading it on the end of course critique form. Front Sight’s purpose is the “positively change the image of gun ownership by training responsible citizens to levels that exceed law enforcement and military standards – without any boot camp mentality or drill instructor attitudes.” I love that because that is exact what I experienced.
In talking to friends about my time at Front Sight (which they were all waiting for, after I told them I was attending), I have stated that Front Sight is about preserving the 2nd amendment. By training people to responsibly use their handgun and to fully understand everything that goes along with that, including the consequences when the decision to fire is made. I tell people that the course is not all about time on the range, but time in lecture too, to understand why we have a 2nd amendment and how more and more people need to understand this, rather than ‘be afraid’ of guns.
Feel free to share any of my comments with others.
Best Regards
Dale H.
