Front Sight Mail Bag: CCW Course Attendee Responds

Dr. Piazza,
I would like to congratulate you and your staff for delivering every single thing you promised on your website about Front Sight Firearms Training Institute. I attended the Four Day Defensive Handgun plus One Day CCW course with some friends in late March. I was impressed with all aspects of the course and will highly recommend your facility to everyone I know.
Upon arrival we were directed efficiently and courteously through weapons inspection and into the classroom. There was no confusion about what to expect and it really helped enhance my enjoyment of the experience. This allowed me to mentally relax and prepare to take in the wealth of knowledge I was about to learn. At no time was I left wondering where I was supposed to be.
First, let me say how informative the introduction lecture and those that followed were. Many concepts had never occurred to me and those that had were expounded on dramatically. The speakers commanded respect with their knowledge as well as their ability to convey it, and did so with enthusiasm and entertainment.
Second, while on the firing range we were treated with respect in turn and your emphasis on safety and control were comforting, particularly to students that had never held a firearm before, of which there were quite a few. Each segment of training was explained in detail and demonstrated repeatedly until I knew exactly what was expected. Then we performed each lesson with dry practice followed by live firing drills.
The quality of your instructors cannot be overstated. Every task asked of us was demonstrated as necessary by your shooters and each performed as promised. They instructed clearly, efficiently and really made it fun. I loved how much trigger time we got! Also, the emphasis on dry practice both on and off the range paid off much more than expected. I clearly understand the advantages of it and necessity for it now.
I have never had any formal firearms instruction until now. I cannot believe that after my first Four Day Defensive Handgun Course I received the Distinguished Graduate Certificate of Achievement. If this does not illustrate the quality of instruction then I don’t know what does.
Thanks again for creating such high quality training and allowing me to participate in one of America’s most valuable rights at your top quality facility. I met great people from all over the country and made some lasting friends there. I can’t wait to attend again!
