Front Sight Blog: (part 3) Connecticut Gun Confiscation

My New Year’s Resolution is to be as pro-active as possible in spreading the truth about the importance of our cherished Second Amendment, while exposing the liars, whores and thieves who conspire to strip us of our freedoms, and to continue to provide you and the rest of America with the absolute greatest opportunities to become armed and trained.
I firmly believe our future, and the future of our children and grandchildren, depends on it.

With that in mind, here is Part 3 in a series of blogs covering the current situation in Connecticut following the draconian gun legislation the Gun Grabbers of that state rammed through as an emotional, knee-jerk reaction to the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings. Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke warns of a second American revolution if gun control and confiscation passes and said he would not enforce laws requiring confiscation in his county.
“First of all, to me that would be an act of tyranny,” he said of the gun control measures currently under consideration. “So the people in Milwaukee County do not have to worry about me enforcing some sort of order that goes out and collects everybody’s handgun, or rifles, or any kind of firearm and makes them turn them in.”
“The reason is I don’t want to get shot, because I believe that if somebody tried to enforce something of that magnitude, you would see the second coming of an American revolution, the likes of which would make the first revolution pale by comparison,” he added.

- Sheriff David Clarke is not alone. Although the rank and file officers in Connecticut and throughout our country are not in a position to publicly denounce the idea of gun confiscation, or pro-actively place their careers at risk by stating they will refuse any order from their commanding officer to forcibly enter responsible citizens homes in a warrantless door-to-door search to confiscate guns, officers who can speak out, like Sheriff David Clarke, know the score.
- The fact of the matter is there are not enough police or military in the United States and the United Nations combined to enforce a law that 85% of the armed US population refuse to follow. THAT is what our Founding Fathers envisioned when they penned the Second Amendment and THAT is what the Gun Grabbers of Connecticut are now realizing.
- When a law is not followed by 85% of the people the law was designed to control, IT IS A BAD LAW. Legislators fail to understand their true position. Somehow their minds get corrupted once in office and they think that they we elected them to GOVERN us. Quite the contrary. We elected them to REPRESENT us. And if they pass a law that we don’t like, which 85% of us refuse to follow, then we are telling them through civil disobedience, that they passed a bad law, a law that should be immediately repealed, not enforced. We have the power as long as we are willing to use it.
- Should the government ultimately fail to recognize the true balance of power in this country, they are doomed to repeat the same mistake the British made at the Old North Bridge http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Concord
- Personally, I feel that Connecticut gun grabbers will follow the same path that the California gun grabbers did (see yesterday’s blog) and will not foolishly risk violent confrontations with hundreds of thousands of well-armed citizens or mutiny through their law enforcement ranks in door-to-door gun confiscation, especially when litigation seeking to overturn their unconstitutional law proceeds through the courts. To do so would be an even dumber move than the knee-jerk law they passed. Hmmm, after writing that last line, I realized you better keep up the dry practice with your AR-15 in the attic… just in case.
