We teach a Concealed Weapons Permit class as a community service and to implement the word of our Lord as in the Bible, book of Luke chapter 22, verse 36.

Jesus of Nazareth tells his disciples to get swords (the arm of the day) and those who do not have swords should sell their cloaks and buy swords.

The context is that Jesus had sent his disciples out to spread his word and a couple of them had gotten mugged on the road. References are earlier in the book of Luke and in the book of Matthew.

Christian theology has always advocated self defense, defense of others, and defense of community.  Pacifism is a perverted deviant dogma that is not founded in Christianity.  I have always felt that pacifism is a rationalization…

I have never quite understood why some people believe that God has no place for guns.

It must be that such people, through lack of knowledge and training, mentally attach such a negative personality to the gun that the thought of a pastor or church member carrying a gun to protect the flock offends their sensibilities.

A gun is an inanimate object. It is no different than any other tool.

Yet another case of odd and frightening domestic violence recently happened in North Carolina, making self defense training a definite must. Once again, it is the result of online advertising. This time, however, a husband advertised on a website. He recruited a man to “break in” to his house and rape his wife, asking him to use scare tactics. Can you believe that? I have recognized the fact that some people in this world are strange and unusual… but really? How would you like to be married to that guy? Who knows if you are?

In Massachusetts, a man has been accused of stabbing his wife to death during an argument. This domestic violence case has proven the need for people to receive self defense training. They had been married twenty years and had two children – from the sounds of it, seems like they had almost the perfect marriage (minus the extra half of a child, of course!) Many private schools are adapting a new rule for girls at social functions. When the girls go to mixers – or school dances with the boys’ schools – they now have to wear bike pants under their clothes. This will supposedly reduce the risk of being sexually assaulted.
