GREAT, FANTASTIC! You can’t imagine how much good you have done by your work with the Scouts. When my sons were Scout age I helped run an Explorer Post.  Here is some more information regarding the value of the Scouting Program.

Greetings Dr. Piazza,

I have just completed the 4 day defensive hand gun & CCW at Front Sight. In my opinion and the opinion of the friends that attended with me, the classes were far more than expected. It was one of those endeavors that happen so rarely, in that the benefit far exceeded the cost & one actually comes away having received more than expected. It was also a major realization finding out just how much I didn’t know & how to correct it within 5 days.

I’ve just started to use firearms and got a CCW permit.

I’m 59 years old and just came to the realization that I really am not able to protect my wife or myself or any of my loved ones from an assailant.

I have just read your 2nd newsletter& am finding these interesting.

This coming from a lady that one year ago hated handguns!

I took a local beginner class, starting going to the range every 1-2 weeks and got hooked on trying to improve. My husband and I completed the CCW class Feb. 2008. Especially the Combat Mindset, the Color Code of Awareness, and how it applies to your brain not being able to comprehend an attack. This is great information that really has a practical application every day.

Dr. Piazza,Excellent instruction.I well remember a study that was done a number of years ago, involving interviews with violent criminals in prison in order to determine what they feared while they were out committing mayhem upon the public.

They did not fear the police because they would be long gone before the police arrived.

They did not fear the judicial system because of plea bargining and shortened sentences due to prison overcrowding.

Their only fear, in their own words, was the possibility that their next victim might be armed.

Nuff said.

Dear Dr. Piazza;I’ve been receiving your gun training reports for several weeks and have really been enjoying them, especially the reports about the Color Code of Awareness.  I’ve also really been enjoying following your blog and all the great insights you bring to current events regarding real-life self defense situations.
