Front Sight Mail Bag: Response to Gun Control Professor

Dr. Piazza,

Sound council here, except for the advice he gave about being more alert for signs that an individual could be about to commit such an act.

We already have way too many trigger happy jack booted thugs in law enforcement just waiting for a good excuse to play rambo, raid a home, terrorize those inside, confiscate weapons, and generally throw their weight around. We don’t need anymore snitches. Complaining about the criminals in D.C. could be interpreted by some to be such a sign.

I wish this man had focused on the one common denominator relative to almost all such shootings: the fact that the shooter was on at least one psychotropic drug, like ritalin, prosac, etc., or had just stopped taking them.

The media has so much fear of the pharmaceutical…

Front Sight Mail Bag: Makes too much sense

Ignatius,

Very good interview but like you said this guy will be in the abyss. Never to be seen again because he makes sense.

Personally, gun control to me is just about taking your rights away having control over every aspect of? an individuals rights to do anything.

There some crazy stuff going on in this world.

Thank You.
Bruce M

P.S. Freedom is not Free and nothing surprises me anymore.
God Bless.

Ignatius Piazza: 40,000 Lives Lost Per Year Must Be Worth It…

As a civilized society we like to pride ourselves by placing a very high value on life.

The truth of the matter is, we place a much higher value on personal convenience than we place on human lives.

The fact that over 40,000 people die in automobile accidents per year in America and we do NOTHING to restrict, regulate, or ban the ownership and use of automobiles clearly indicates that we, as a society, value our personal convenience and freedom of mobility MORE than we do the 40,000 people who die every year in traffic accidents.

Well, what about freedom from fear of home invasion, assault, robbery, rape, murder, and tyranny?

If we are going allow 40,000 people every year to die in automobile accidents, just so that we can drive to the supermarket,…

Interview with a Gunfighter

Although I would not recommend that you ever sit down for an interview with the news media after killing two armed home invaders, the following unedited news video will teach you many important lessons.

The most important lessons you will glean from this personal, lethal encounter report include:

  • Mindset is everything. (Note what he said to himself when he made the decision to fight.)
  • Training is only second to mindset. (Note what he says about his training.)
  • Action always beats reaction. (As long as you hit with your first shot.)
  • In a Gunfight, Rule # 1 is HAVE A GUN. (Note what he says about where and how he keeps his concealed weapons.)
  • When it is truly self defense, there is no criminal liability or questions about your actions. (And no need to apologize for fighting…

Front Sight Resorts Interviews Student: Master Gunnery Sergeant USMC Scott Anderson

Interviewed by Jim McMahon

Scott Anderson is a Master Gunnery Sergeant with the United States Marine Corps. He has 18 years in the Marines, and has been a reserve police officer for 13 years.

Scott Anderson

Scott has been an active shooter, as well as shooting competitor, since he was a teen, and has been a Front Sight First Family Member for the past five years. At the time of this interview, he had returned from active duty in Iraq. I caught up with Scott in his office at the Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base, in California, just before his return, once again, to Iraq.

FSR: What event or reason prompted you to search out firearms training?

Scott: A few years ago I had been in the U.S. Marine Corps for 23 years, and a reserve…

Front Sight Resorts Interviews Student Rick Kaufman

Interviewed by Jim McMahon

Rick Kaufman has been an avid shooter for well over 20 years, and involved with Front Sight since its very inception. Not only was he in the very first class Front Sight offered, back in 1996, Rick was with Ignatius “Naish” Piazza back in the early 90’s where they trained together in a firearms class.

Rick has a unique perspective on the development of Front Sight that few others have experienced. One that spans the entire development of the Front Sight organization.

I caught up with Rick late in the night, off duty from his position as an aircraft mechanic with American Airlines here in Los Angeles.

Rick Kaufman

FSR: What event or reason prompted you to search out firearms training?

Rick:I started training for self defense. No matter where you live, crime…

Front Sight Resorts Interviews Student Nola Hatch

Interviewed by Jim McMahon

Nola Hatch is a Front Sight student, as well as a teacher and owner of a private school in California. Moved by the school shootings of Columbine, Nola has taken it upon herself to become trained in the skills of firearms handling. Nola is also a First Family Member with a Gold Membership.

But what makes Nola really unique is her unwavering dedication to the personal safety of her family, and her support of Second Amendment rights. She has ensured that all of her six children, and their spouses, have First Family Memberships, and all of her many grandchildren, Family Safe Forever Programs.

Nola is truly a mover and shaker. And at a young age 65, shows no signs of slowing down. I caught up with Nola at her home…

Front Sight Resorts Interviews Student – Dr. Gary Cecchi

Interviewed by Jim McMahon

Dr. Gary Cecchi has been a Front Sight First Family Member from the very beginning. Back in 1996, Gary was one of the first students to purchase a membership, and he has seen Front Sight evolve from its very first days back at the Bakersfield facility to its present state.

As a Hematologist/Oncologist living and working in the San Francisco Bay area, Gary had virtually no experience with firearms before Front Sight. He has brought to Front Sight as many as thirty friends and associates over the years, which he pilots in himself with his private airplane.

As one of the first Platinum First Family Members, Gary possesses an incisive viewpoint on the necessity of Front Sight’s role is in our American society today.

Gary was kind enough to give…

Front Sight Resorts Interviews Student Noble La Huillier

Interviewed by Jim McMahon

Noble La Huillier is really catching a lot of eyes around Front Sight these days, not only from instructors, but from just about anyone who has the pleasure to share the same range with him.

Noble has achieved a Distinguished Graduate certificate for handgun, not once, but three times. And, he holds an Advanced Distinguished certificate for handgun, which he earned on Front Sight’s Combat Master Prep course. But to achieve this has taken a bit of work, to say the least. Noble has taken the Four-Day Defensive Handgun course five times, the Handgun Skill Builder four times, and Combat Master Prep course four times.

But what is really amazing about Noble is that he did all this by twelve years old.

I had the pleasure of interviewing this spirited…

Front Sight Resorts Interviews Student Beth Fish

Interviewed by Jim McMahon

Beth Fish has taken quite an avid interest in her self-defense training at Front Sight. Within the past 18 months Beth has completed a number of handgun courses, a rope and rappel course, and is now working on her third martial arts course at Front Sight. Originally signing up as a Copper First Family Member, she has recently upgraded to Gold.

But Beth isn’t doing her Front Sight training alone. Accompanying her is her husband, who is also a Gold First Family Member. And her two daughters, ages seven and nine, who have taken both the Two-Day and Four-Day Children’s Safety Courses, plus Rope and Rappel Courses. Both girls are Bronze First Family Members.

Beth Fish

Beth is a wonderful example of a woman and mother who has taken definite action…
