fear and fascination of guns – how to overcome

Dear Dr. Piazza,
My girlfriend and I have been subscribing to your weekly gun training reports and tips and we’re convinced that we need to attend one of your Front Sight Courses. We’ve recently been introduced to firearms, buying two .22 rifles, joining a friend of ours from the local gunshop up at the range, and attending a Friends of the NRA sponsored and funded college student 1-day gun safety course.
Having a slight fear and fascination with guns, I have always wanted to know how to responsibly use them (my family was from Kentucky but stopped shooting when we moved to California). This desire has been mine since I can remember, but with the recent shootings in America, particularly the one at a college, I want this training and confidence asap. If I’m ever in a situation like that and carrying, I want to have the skills and confidence that I can use the necessary force and prevent another event like the ones we’ve seen.
We’d like to take your four day defensive handgun course.
