Seven Misconceptions Gun Training Report Feedback
October 6th, 2007
Dr. Piazza,
I volunteer for a couple law enforcement gigs. The first I got involved with included airplanes, cockpits and ranges not to exceed seven yards. After a thousand or so rounds at this distance, all in my class qualified. We called it the “Ray Charles Open”. (Even a blind man could hit at seven yards!)
The next was a local sheriff’s department. We have to qualify at 25, 15, 7 and 3 yards. The longer distances proved challenging for me. I had digressed to point shooting. I wasn’t looking at the sights. A little mental readjustments and I was back to picking up the front sight again.
Your “Seven Misconceptions…” email brought this experience back.
