Front Sight Mail Bag: Day in the Life of a Deputy…
December 17th, 2010
Dr. Piazza,
I could not agree more. I am a Reserve Sheriff’s Deputy.
We arrested a Sexual Predator with 2 outstanding warrants on him last Tuesday night. We were just lucky; he had a burned out license plate light so we pulled him over and ran his information.
If not for that simple violation we would have missed him. We had Reasonable Suspicion(time of night, area he was in, etc.) but would not have been able by law to stop him without the violation of the law. He was driving with a suspended license, no proof of insurance and it was not his car. There is no telling what he would have done if we didn’t get him off the streets.
I appreciate your training and diligence in sharing it with others.
I am looking forward to attending the training classes that I have purchased already. It is too late to get trained when the situation is on your front step. you must be prepared for the unknown or you become a victim. I may become a statistic, but I will not be a victim.
Regards,
Mike R.
