Front Sight Mail Bag: On Having a Casual Attitude Toward Shooting
December 28th, 2010
Dr Piazza,
I invited my sister, Nicole, to attend the course with me, since she has a fair background in handgun basics and target shooting. However, she had no training in self defense shooting. She had a casual attitude on how she might handle an intruder into her house. I decided she should have some formal training in this area. She accepted my offer and, together, we attended your course.
All four days made a distinct impression on us and we came away happier than ever. The professionalism exhibited was the highest I could imagine and as Mr. Mayer said, you teach AND stress fundamental basics. Both of us have worked with military people and we were extremely impressed with the regimented handling basics which you teach.
These basics have inspired me to not only improve my shooting technique, they also give me the confidence to safely carry my weapon every day. Prior to this, I carried with some trepidation, hoping I would never have to draw the weapon. Now I KNOW that I am able to effectively use it if necessary.
I have several friends who I will invite to your training institute. It might just save their life.
You have my permission to use any of my comments.
Sincerely, Roger K.
