Front Sight Mail Bag: Fire Investigator Writes in about Gun Training
July 31st, 2011
Dear Dr. Piazza,
I work for the Dixon Fire Department as a fire engineer and our departments fire and arson investigator. I was one of four members of our department who came to Front Sight and took the four day handgun course. Since becoming a fire investigator 25 years ago, I have taken several courses with law enforcement on training and use of a handgun along with other field courses. Since being raised on a working family cattle ranch shooting came second nature to me since I did it all the time when you have 5000 acres to do it on. Now you know a little about me.
The course date was April 18-21, 2011. The course was the four day handgun, and our range was # 7. Our Range Master was GREG. First let me say your facility is the most professional, modern, and well kept I have ever trained at. I was in awe when we entered it and was still in awe when we left. Everyone was very respectful, polite, and professional while we were there. Your safety procedures were the best, and felt safe when I was there. Our range master is a range masters, range master. His command presence and excellent presentation of the course material put him above any other instructor I have had. When I come back I would want him again. The other two assistant instructors were also very good and everyone in my group felt the same. In closing, your facility, personnel, safety, and instruction were the finest ever and I tell everyone about it. Thank You again for all that you do for training and keeping the Second Amendment alive. I look forward to coming back for more training.
Vance
Fire Engineer
