Front Sight’s Monday Blog: Shall Issue Concealed Carry for California

Front Sight was founded and continues to grow geometrically with the purpose to positively change the image of gun ownership in our lifetimes.

Through the thousands of responsible citizens who attend our courses every month and then go back to their communities all across the country as walking, talking representatives of Front Sight’s expert training, we really are making a significant, positive change.

In the past, when events such as Columbine, 9/11 and Virginia Tech captured national attention, Front Sight immediately lead the way to position the importance of responsible gun ownership at the forefront of discussions to train teachers in the carry of concealed weapons, arm and train pilots, and remove gun bans on college campuses. Front Sight backed our words with free training for teachers, pilots and college students in all of those successful campaigns. As a result, there are private and public schools throughout the country with armed teachers, your commercial pilots now have the opportunity to carry a gun on the flight deck, and a growing number of college campuses now allow students to carry concealed handguns.

If you subscribe to my gun training reports or have attended Front Sight, you know that arming and training our most responsible citizens makes us all safer, assists law enforcement efforts, and reduces violent crime.

Before Front Sight opened in 1996, there were very few states that allowed citizens to carry a concealed weapon. Today there are 38 Shall Issue Concealed Carry States that must issue a concealed weapon permit to any citizen who can show proof of no criminal background, mental illness or substance abuse, and has completed training in the safe and responsible use of a handgun.

I am quite proud of the fact that the hundreds of thousands of students Front Sight has trained over the years had a direct hand in creating the positive change in perception of concealed carry.

Of course, California is NOT one of those states that we have helped change. Every other state in the West is Shall Issue, but not California.

Well the time is now ripe for Front Sight to right that wrong in 2012.

I believe that Front Sight is now large enough, with nearly 500,000 subscribers to my Gun Training Reports, many of them registered California voters, to gather enough valid signatures from their neighbors, gun club members, and shooting buddies over the next few months to get a Shall Issue Concealed Carry Proposition on the California November 2012 General Election Ballot!

Front Sight has always been committed to positively change the image of gun ownership in our lifetimes by training you to levels that exceed law enforcement and military standards, and we are proving it once again by stepping up, putting our time, money and effort into giving ALL responsible Californians, Shall Issue Concealed Carry!

We can do it.

All it takes to get the proposition on the ballot is for each and every one of our California students to go out and gather valid signatures from a handful of their neighbors, a few of their shooting buddies, and spread the word at their gun clubs so those gun owners gather some signatures too. There are tens of millions of us gun owners in California and NOW is the time to be heard and be counted!

With budget cuts reducing police forces, prisons being forced to release dangerous inmates before sentences are served, and the increase in crime that follows recessionary times, citizens are purchasing guns at a record pace to protect themselves. We have the greatest percentage of households reporting gun ownership ever, and PEOPLE WANT TO BE ARMED AND TRAINED to carry a concealed weapon outside their homes for protection in their daily activities.

Please forward this e-mail as well to all of your fellow California gun owners, take it into your local California gun shops, drop it off at all the booths at your favorite gun shows and lets QUICKLY get all of the required, valid signatures to place the California Shall Issue Concealed Carry Proposition on the November 2012 General Election Ballot!
