Front Sight Mail Bag: Firearms Course Gets a Resounding TEN
September 9th, 2015
Dear Dr. Piazza,
The course was definitely a resounding 10. I bought into your product a couple years ago when we decided we would move from Virginia to Kansas, thus being more within range of Front Sight. This was my first time attending. I retired from federal service at the end of 1998. When we transitioned from revolvers to pistols in about 1995 or so, we had a very good transition course of three days. Since then, until my retirement at the end of 1998, I merely had to appear at the range once a quarter and requalify with the weapon. Easy. So I hadn’t had any actual continuing education, if you will, on how to use that pistol. We did the malfunction drills when we transitioned from the revolver but never covered it again. And of course, since I retired I haven’t had any instruction. Even after 9-11 when many of us left retirement to return to active service to help out for a while, we still didn’t get any recurrence training other than to qualify at the range with a certain minimum score. The Front Sight training provided was exactly what I needed.
