Front Sight Mail Bag: Learning Strengths and Weaknesses

Dear Dr. Piazza,
The staff in the 4-day handgun class I attended was exceptional and the training was far above my expectations. The attendees of the class ranged from experienced police officers to people who had never fired a gun in their lives. The range staff was very professional, attentive and did a great job getting the class through the training and unbearable afternoon heat. They all did so with professionalism and a great sense of humor when called for. You can tell that the staff members like each other and that enhances a positive team environment. I could tell that they do this all the time and I’m sure there is a script that they all stick to, but they clearly know what they are doing and were great at quickly learning each students strengths and weaknesses. They offered effective coaching when it was needed and even when I did something wrong, they didn’t make me feel stupid or belittle me or anyone else for that matter, even if they deserved it. The staff did a great job to make me a better and safer shooter.
