Front Sight Mail Bag: Never Made Me Feel Dumb or Inadequate

Dear Dr. Piazza,
To be honest, I was dreading going to Front Sight. I had shot a gun three other times in my life and shooting was not my thing. My husband has taken two classes at Front Sight and loved it so much that he offered to watch our three kids six and under for the first time EVER. Everything just ran so smoothly from the moment we stepped onto Front Sight property. The check-in process was flawless and everything was timed perfectly, to the minute, the entire time! I had thought we’d be in lectures inside a lot of the time and was so happy that it was almost all outside, seated and covered with hands-on practice. I was extremely impressed with their focus on safety and it really put my mind at ease. I loved our range master; he was an amazing instructor, was funny, and made everything so fun! The instructors had to continually tell me the same thing, and they never made me feel dumb or inadequate. They were encouraging and uplifting. I had a great time and have nothing negative to say. And I came out not being afraid of guns, actually enjoying shooting, knowing how to load and handle guns, and with a decent shot. I wouldn’t say I’m better than 95% of the shooting but much better than before I went in, and I had a blast doing it! My friend and I have already talked about when we can go back! One of these days we might even get Distinguished Graduate!
