The Worth of the Second Amendment

“This year will go down in history. For the first time, a civilized nation has full gun registration. Our streets will be safer, our police more efficient, and the world will follow our lead into the future.” – Adolf Hitler, 1935

As this 1935 quote illustrates, every dictator realizes that disarming the public is the first step to gaining complete control over the populace. Even in a world of modern military technology, leaders of corrupt governments are given pause by the thought of an armed populace.

A more subtle danger is the notion that disarming the population will keep the general public safer from dishonorable fellow citizens. As we have seen, although not reported in the mainstream media, elimination of weapons has the effect of removing a significant impediment for the criminal element. No longer is there concern about effective retaliation from elderly, infirmed or relatively weak victims, whether encountered in a home invasion or on the street.

Dr. Piazza has clarified this issue in Front Sight created videos in a variety of ways. One especially important and very convincing technique he has used is to interview Australians, Canadians and British citizens who testify to their own personal tragedies of having had to turn in their weapons to their respective governments.

Those of us who have read such books as “Guns Freedom and Terrorism” by Wayne LaPierre, “The Seven Myths of Gun Control” by Richard
Poe, “The Bias Against Guns” by John R. Lott, Jr., “Armed” by Gary Kleck and Don B. Kates, and “Guns and Violence” by Joyce Lee Malcolm know that crime rates have skyrocketed in these countries since these unfortunate events have occurred. It is important to note where we have NOT heard supporting statistics for this fact; this has been completely ignored by the mainstream media because it does not support the biased liberal agenda against guns.

Americans believing in the wisdom of the founding fathers in placing non-negotiable worth to the values presented in the 2nd Amendment, experience an immediate wakeup call when watching these interviews. We suddenly realize that “if we don’t do something, we could be next.”

Fortunately, in some measurable ways, the United States has been moving in the right direction. More Americans than ever before have the right of concealed carry for self-protection and for the protection of loved ones. Superb Front Sight lectures drive home the reality that possession of a CCW presents tremendous added responsibility to the citizen exercising this relatively new ‘right’
of American citizens in most states. I should add at this point that the liberal predictions of huge increases in mass shootings, as a result of increases in numbers of armed citizens, has certainly not occurred. Perhaps it is true that ‘an armed society is a polite society.’

Despite having recently moved in the right direction, any major election has the potential to reverse years of progress. Fortunately, liberal politicians will not be able to turn the debate back to their long-standing strategy of erroneously reassuring Americans that their hunting weapons are not at risk. We finally realize that we can’t be sucked into the perspective that the issue is about hunting and shooting sports.

The 2nd Amendment is not about duck hunting! We know that now. Dr. Piazza has helped us to realize that we have been sucked into the wrong debate. More of us know that now, thanks to the tenacious and heroic efforts of Dr. Piazza and the professional staff he has trained at Front Sight.

The lectures are at least as important as the skills taught at Front Sight, but the other side of the picture is the comfort brought to an individual by possession of ‘skill at arms.’ It is especially edifying to see the increasing numbers of older students and female students at Front Sight, and to see their countenance change as skill and confidence increase through even a single 4-day defensive handgun course. Even more inspirational is the increase in numbers of young Front Sight students becoming First Family members recently.

My initial awareness of opportunities available at Front Sight came from a personal friend who gave me a certificate to attend a Front Sight course free of charge. It was irresistible, and I was hooked after the first lecture and the first range session.

The upcoming reality television shows will raise awareness nationwide to millions of Americans and should result in a tremendous increase in memberships. The 26 episodes, which have already been filmed, along with other projects currently on the drawing board, represent how forward thinking and comprehensive Dr. Piazza has been in his approach.

It takes a multifaceted global person, with the rare complement of attention to details, to visualize development of a world-class
firearms training institute, to realize the importance of including critical lectures as part of the curriculum, to train and hire
competent staff and professional instructors, to build a continued instructor development program, and to develop innovative marketing techniques.

Dr. Piazza has put immense resources into new projects important to getting the word out. The Front Sight Challenge, a reality tv series, will take full advantage of 21st century niche marketing opportunities.
