Front Sight Blog: (video) and Letter from Ft. Hood Survivor, Proves Military is Out of Touch With Reality

My New Year’s Resolution is to be as pro-active as possible in spreading the truth about the importance of our cherished Second Amendment, while exposing the liars, whores and thieves who conspire to strip us of our freedoms, and to continue to provide you and the rest of America with the absolute greatest opportunities to become armed and trained.

I firmly believe our future, and the future of our children and grandchildren, depends on it.

With that in mind, here are two very powerful videos and an even more powerful letter from a soldier who survived the Ft. Hood attack.

The first video is from Col. Bart Billings, a clinical psychologist with 34 year of military experience, showing how the military is unknowingly creating Post-Traumatic Stress DISORDER by treating soldiers with psych meds and adversely altering the normal process that we all go through in handling post-traumatic stress.

The second video is from FOX News and demonstrates how out of touch our military experts are when it comes to stopping the root cause that is turning non violent people into suicidal monsters, protecting our soldiers against Ft. Hood type attacks, and preventing another attack from happening.

Then see the letter from a soldier who was there, and instead of ending the attack, was forced to hide with 14 other soldiers because he was disarmed by his own government. The only reason he is alive today to write his letter to you is because another disarmed soldier sacrificed his life to barricade a door with his body. This soldier has a definite difference of opinion with the military “experts” in the FOX video who state that military personnel do not want to be armed and arming them would cause more problems for the “trained professionals” who arrive 15 minutes after the shooting starts.

Here is the Letter from First Lieutenant Patrick Cook of the 49th Transportation Battalion, Fort Hood, Texas…

To my friends, fellow Texans, brothers in arms, members of the committee, and everyone within the sound of my voice, greetings.

My name is First Lieutenant Patrick Cook of the 49th Transportation Battalion, Fort Hood, Texas, and this past Wednesday I found myself trapped in an enclosed room with fourteen of my fellow Soldiers, one of whom was barricading the door against a madman with a .45 pistol when he was fatally shot. Through what I can only describe as a miracle, he somehow found enough strength to continue pushing against that door until the shooter gave up and went elsewhere, at which time he collapsed. Nearly a week later, I can still taste his blood in my mouth from when I and my comrades breathed into his lungs for 20 long minutes while we waited for a response from the authorities. This Soldier’s name was Sergeant First Class Daniel Ferguson, and his sacrifice loaned me the rest of my life to tell this story.

But I write to you today not to memorialize this brave Soldier, nor to tell a war story about how we made the best of a losing situation, but to express the part of that story that some in high positions of power clearly do not want told: I knew this was going to happen. I had been saying for five years that Fort Hood was a tinderbox of another massacre waiting to happen. It had to happen, because our betters failed to learn the obvious lesson of five years ago. Worse yet, I know it will happen again. More will die, more will be wounded, more families will be torn apart, needlessly. It happened again, and will happen again, because Fort Hood is a gun free zone.

When the first shots rang out, my hand reached to my belt for something that wasn’t there. Something that could have put a stop to the bloodshed, could have made it merely an “ugly incident” instead of the horrific massacre that I will surely remember as the darkest twenty minutes of my life. Stripped of my God-given Right to arm myself, the only defensive posture I had left was to lie prostrate on the ground, and wait to die. As the shooter kicked at the door, I remember telling myself, “oh well, this is it.” It is beneath human dignity to experience the utter helplessness I felt that day. I cannot abide the thought that anyone should ever feel that again.

At the point blank range at which this shooting occurred, anyone with an M9 and some basic instruction could have ended the mayhem as quickly as it began. An MP by trade and a CHL holder, I am convinced that concealed weapons would have stopped it, but openly carried side-arms, like the ones carried in a law enforcement capacity, could have prevented it entirely. Instead, many more died because of the fatally misguided restrictions on the carrying of arms, which obviously the madman did not respect.

I shall conclude by restating my warning. This will happen again, and again until we learn the lesson that suppressing the bearing of arms doesn’t prevent horrific crimes, it invites them. To those of you who hold elected office, if you hear nothing else I have told you, hear this: you have the power to stop the next massacre from happening. You have an opportunity to restore the sacred Right to bear arms, which has been either stripped entirely or unjustly relegated to the poor substitute of a probationary, government-issued privilege. For God’s sake, do the right thing.

Anytime you want to stop a trend or even reverse it, go back to a time when you did not have the problem and determine what has changed.

There is ONE and ONLY ONE common denominator in ALL of the murderous rampages over the last 20 years and that common denominator is PSYCH DRUGS. We did not have these problems BEFORE the military got in bed with drug pushing psychiatrists and the pharmaceutical industry. Once the military started disrupting normal brain function and altering the way our soldiers NORMALLY handle post-traumatic stress, by filling our soldiers with violence and suicide inducing drugs, we started having these problems.

To make matters worse, our military did not recognize the right target (psychiatrists and their drugs) and fueled the fire by increasing psychiatric intervention and prescription of more and more psych drugs!

Here is where we are now…

The Army issues psych drugs like they are dolling out candy bars. 16% of all service men are sent into combat with a rucksack full of psych drugs. When they return to the US, 37% of our young men and women are diagnosed by a psychiatrist as having “Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder” and given more suicide and violence inducing psych drugs. Pharmaceutical companies are making billions of dollars in profits at tax payer expense and our government is creating a suicide epidemic!

As a result of the over-prescription of these suicidal drugs, 23 veterans and military personnel kill themselves EVERY DAY. More service members kill themselves every day than are killed in battle! http://www.cchr.org/videos/the-hidden-enemy.html THIS IS A CRIME AGAINST AMERICA’S FINEST MEN AND WOMEN WHO SERVE TO PROTECT US.

The Army puts a rifle in our sons’ hands, violence and suicide inducing drugs in their ruck sack, and then when they come home, slaps them with a PTSD diagnosis, gives them more psych drugs and disarms everyone on our military bases, leaving them defenseless against the monsters the Army is unknowingly creating with their psych drugs.

So how do we stop this insanity?

Go back to the way we operated BEFORE we created the problem with psychiatrists in the military and their prescription of violence and suicide inducing drugs to our young men and women.

And here is a 6th grade simple solution that my 5th grade son came up with yesterday. He asked, “Dad, why would anyone want a soldier in the military who is mentally ill? Shouldn’t they be sent home to rest if they are that sick?”

So there you have it… the 6th grade simple solution.

Honorably discharge those who must have psychiatric drugs to carry out their duties.
Stop disrupting and altering the brain’s normal function in handling post-traumatic stress. Stop prescribing psych drugs and creating Post-Traumatic Stress DISORDER in people who are normally handling post-traumatic stress. Give them the rest and the time to normally and naturally heal.
Stop all government funding of psychiatry. PSYCHIATRY DOES NOT WORK.

And allow military personnel to be armed on all military bases. We only create “Helpless Victim Zones” when we enforce “Gun Free Zones.”
