Front Sight Mailbag: Never Shot a Gun Before This
June 12th, 2020
Dear Dr. Piazza,
All of the instructors were absolutely fantastic and helpful. I had never shot a gun before this experience, and I left knowing how to correct myself when I shot poorly and feeling confident that I would be able to accurately defend myself if I needed to. One instructor was really helpful for my overall form and abilities, and seemed to single me out (in a good way) to constantly encourage me to do better and remember all of what I was taught. Later on in the week I was feeling also a little discouraged after my test, because I didn’t score as well as I had hoped to. I told one of the instructors and he reassured me that I had actually done really well on the test, especially because it had been my first time attending the course, and shooting in general. This definitely made my spirits rise higher for the rest of the day. Overall, all of the instructors were positive and friendly and you could really tell that they were happy to be there. I was never nervous to ask a question or to reach out for help.
