Front Sight Mailbag: Whatever Firearm Training is Available Locally is Sub-Standard
March 7th, 2022
Dear Dr. Piazza,
I had a superb experience during my four-day shotgun training course. I purchased a shotgun about seven years ago for home defense. I had minimal experience using the firearm — mostly trap shooting — and intended to register for some sort of training, possibly at a local range. That didn’t happen. I’m glad it didn’t. I am certain whatever is available locally will be sub-standard compared to Front Sight. As I looked around the Front Sight campus, noting the check-in procedure, layout, berms, and ranges, the adjective I kept using was “smart.” Everything seemed carefully planned. The focus on safety, safety, safety eased my mind about being among so many armed strangers, and I appreciated the attitude of being trained for defense, not offense. What made my experience superb were the interactions with range master/instructor. I will continue encouraging those in my circles to register for Front Sight training. The campus and education are incredible. Instructors like Frank make it exceptional. Thank you.
